Supporting and Valuing Lived Experience of Mental Health Difficulties in Clinical Psychology

Writer's picture: Dr Natalie KempDr Natalie Kemp

It's a UCL day working on 'A Guide To Supporting and Valuing Lived Experience of Mental Health Difficulties in Clinical Psychology Training'.

It is a collaborative endeavour, with our team at UCL Unit for Stigma Research working together with key stakeholders (trainees, tutors and placement supervisors, with and without lived experience) across three stakeholder phases: initial good practice and dilemmas meeting, a working group editing meeting, and soon, a final e-reviewer stage.

We have been guided by those whom this impacts from the outset of the guide's creation, including those with lived experience of mental health problems and experience of training (including myself in the team). We hope this will help to open up conversations and add pooled guidance to discussions which will be reviewed with developments over time.

We will look to publish later this year.

Hooray!😃
